the basement / 1994-2004 +

Conclusions from 4 hours of cleaning out the basement of stuff from 1994-2004 (mostly cards, photos, and random memorabilia via 6733):

1. When everyone started emailing in 1998, that was Cool.

2. But it was even Cooler when no one emailed and we just wrote notes back and forth and back and forth, throughout the schoolday and even in class….and in RED PEN. Yessssss.

3. It is extremely creepy and cool to peer into my 16 + 17-year-old (i.e., the years for which I have the most NOTES) mind.

4. I have a LOTLOTLOTLOTLOT of REALLYREALLYREALLYREALLY good people who have loved me throughout my life and I am very, very lucky for that. NO idea how I met so many good people but I am grateful.

5. We made a list of True Ten and our most ‘ests’ in 2004ish (craziEST, scariEST, etc.) and mine was unpublishable. Well, OK. It was lesbianEST. HEH heh heh.

6. I loved living with Kristin and Alyssa!

7. Jeff gets the CUTEST CARDS EVER. Esp. with cute kitties and puppies :).

8. I got rid of a LOT of junk.

9. I then saw a scary centipede, screamed out loud, and ran away. I am now going grocery shopping. Adios.

Do you want to come and take care of my stuff? I have BOXES of the same stuff, cards, notes, etc. And of course it takes forever to go through because I feel compelled to read it all in deciding if I should keep or throw it.

Today’s teenagers will not have this problem; no notes! Just their texts.

YES they just have e-junk! Ha ha! It’s funny to note that post-1998 a lot of this stuff drops off for me and I just have emails in my yahoo sent-mail box, ha.
