dream little darling dream

“Out of the darkness comes light like a flash / you think you can you think you can / sometimes that is the problem / dream little darling dream…”

—Dave Matthews Band, You Never Know

Around this time of year a lot of my high school (and now college) nostalgia starts to kick in hardcore. No worries as the same is true of this year. Luckily I have surprises and plans happening for Sarah’s wedding to keep the college nostalgia part occupied at least. Here I was going to post to some old journal entries but after reading them they are too embarrassing to actually direct people to. Yet, I leave them. What can I say, posterity man (and narcissism).

God damn sometimes I can’t believe I am 29 (even though my body is making it loud and clear).

Anyway.

In keeping with the fancy theme…

An incomplete list of Things I Am Working On (Or Thinking About Working On):

– updating my entire pants wardrobe. My pants are all too ratty/small/dumb and need to be replaced. Unfortunately I am a size 3 at The Gap aka the only place I shop, and they don’t do odd sizes. Ridic. Also unfortunately I hate pants shopping. But. It Must Be Done.
– updating my shoe wardrobe. I have three types of shoes in mind, now to find them. They must be extra comfortable. Suggestions welcome. (Black flats, neutral sandal-types, and possibly mid-tall black boots…possibly.)
– Getting back in the habit of reading actual BOOKS instead of The Internet/news/blogs. Must work on this!!!
– Walking around at least twice a day on a workday, preferably outside at least once. Good for your health.
– Looking away from my monitor every 20 minutes at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds each time (thank you, Women’s Health magazine). Failing. But attempting.
– freelance…always, always freelance
– considering water sports/swimming team
– considering business school
– reading Spanish blogs (in direct conflict with BOOKS NOT BLOGS above, yes, but I just miss Spanish and feel I could re-pick-it-up relatively easily)
– going back to gymnastics-style conditioning vs. lifting heavy weights
– eating more vegetables…succeeding admirably if I do say so myself
– reviving walking man (will it stick??)
– dreaming up a decent drawing project
– dreaming up my future
– still dreaming about opening a gym one day

& more, but that’s what you get for now. Off to SF tomorrow, woo hoo!!!!!
